Ten Case Styles, One Paste
Counting what you pasted is our Word Counter Calculator‘s job; styling it is this page’s. Everything runs locally — your text never leaves the browser. Part of our Other Calculators collection.
The Styles, Demonstrated on the Sample
- Title Case: “The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog” — headlines; style guides quibble over small words (a, the, of), so proofread titles against your house style
- Sentence case: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” — the modern default for UI and web headings
- camelCase / PascalCase: “theQuickBrownFox…” / “TheQuickBrownFox…” — programmer dialects for variables and classes, punctuation and spaces stripped
- snake_case / kebab-case: underscores for code and databases; hyphens for URLs and CSS — our own page slugs are kebab-case
Which Case Where
- Legal/formal shouting repair: pasted ALL-CAPS text → Sentence case restores readability (and politeness).
- Identifiers must match conventions exactly: APIs reject LazyDog where lazy_dog is expected.
- Title Case is a family of styles (AP, Chicago, APA differ on minor words) — converters apply the simple every-word rule.
- Alternating/invert case are for play and emphasis memes, not documents you wish to survive review.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert text to Title Case?
Paste your text, choose Title Case, and each word’s first letter is capitalized. This converter applies the straightforward every-word rule; publication styles (AP/Chicago) leave short conjunctions and articles lowercase mid-title, so adjust those by hand for strict house styles.
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Both join words without separators and capitalize each word — except camelCase keeps the very first letter lowercase (myVariableName) while PascalCase capitalizes it too (MyClassName). Programmers use camel for variables/functions, Pascal for classes/types in most conventions.
What is snake_case used for?
Underscore-joined lowercase (file_name_here): Python and Ruby variables, database columns, and many APIs. Its hyphenated twin kebab-case rules URLs, CSS classes and HTML attributes because hyphens are URL-safe while underscores in links can vanish visually under underlines.
Does this tool store my text?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is uploaded or logged. The same privacy applies to the other text tools in this collection (Morse, Base64, URL encoder).
Can I fix accidentally inverted caps (Caps Lock damage)?
Yes — the iNVERT cASE option flips every letter’s case, rescuing “tHIS sENTENCE” typed with Caps Lock on. Sentence case also repairs most pasted ALL-CAPS blocks into readable prose in one click.
Is this case converter free?
Yes — free, instant, no sign-up.
